    300 PRC to 7mm PRC

Hey team, I have a friend that wants to change his Browning X bolt 300 PRC to a 7mm PRC. Any advice on if this is possible and best barrel/gunsmith to use to complete this build. I have a feeling 300PRC is a magnum action length and 7mmPRC maybe just long action. Thanks in advance.

I would be looking at a 7mm PRC today I would check how far the Bergara are from our shore.

Hi can be done just have to change the mag box as they are caliber specific to
Get best feeding there is only the 2 action lengths in browning long and short

Not the most fun rifle to Rebarrel the threads get stuck if you don’t
Know what you doing pretty easy
I usually squirt a heap of kroil into the scope base holes and warm
It up let it cool and repeat for a couple days before pulling the barrel
To make sure there plenty of lubrication in the barrel shank threads
As they are a super fine thread prone to galling with the similar steels
    Used in the 2 parts

300 prc browning might actually be their extra long action ( same with 28 nosler and 300 ultra mag), so longer than the 300 win mag/7rem mag action.

7prc is a long action, 300 prc a magnum length action. Both have the same .532 inch bolt face. I’d say, as someone else has pointed out the mag would need to change. Not sure if the magnum length mag wells will take a long action cartridge without some sort of customising. Almost better to just buy a cheap rem mag and rebarrel that… fairly common to find rem mags for a grand or so, 1500 for rebarrel depending on barrel chosen? Sell the 300 to fund..
