    300WSM - 20in bbl.

Any one running a 300WSM with 20in bbl? What pills/powder did you settle on & what speed & performance are you getting?
Got a Weatherby WSM that came as 24in factory stock. Thinking I might chop to 22 or 20in. Would like to run 180 Bergers or 178 or 195 ELDMs.

Lol, it's possible none of the answerers own those rifles now(or use them as their go to cannon) . A short barrel in the magnum category is 24 inches min, I've only been shooting forever and learnered a thing or two.

This 20" is still owned by the same guy as his long range rifle and has had it for around 6 years.
    I load the same bullet and powder in 3 x 300wsm 2 x Tikka s and 1 Sako 1 20" and 2 x 22" they all are around 2950 to 2970fps

Ive had a 20" 300saum Sako A7 20" for at least 10 years. Its had a good wring out and I'm totally happy with it shooting the 168NBT doing 3.1k. Out to a long way for me. Wouldn't go back to a 24".
