    303 Ammo

Before I buy just wondering what’s decent ammo these days?
Years back we used Norma (only available at tt).

Prvi (PPU) is good stuff for hunting. The 180gr works well with Lee Enfield open sights. Or go the 150gr if you have a scope.

Edit: that's based on Nathan Fosters website info. I sighted in my MKIII* with open sights with the 180gr and shot two deer with it, both died on the spot. So not a great deal of personal experience.

I use Highland / Privi Partisan / PPU (all the same) or Sellior and Bellot. I have found both reasonably easy to get, work well in the rifle and I reload the Highland brass.

As others mention, S&B and Privi stuff is easy to get and wont break the bank, ie $45-$50 a box.
Federal (blue box) will usually be around the $65-70 mark.... so ouch.

Interesting that .My no4mk1 longbranch wont handle 150gn-sprays like a heifer with scowers .put a 180gn in the chamber though and she'll happily deliver it like a good medium fast bowler -taking out middle stump if im on my game.
Iused winchester /norma ammo both excellent!

.303 military round is 174 gr. from memory. Rifles were regulated for that.
