303 Double Rifle and what whiskey ?

So I know guns and alcohol don't mix
But some time in the next few weeks I'm going to visit a gent who's offered to sell me his very nice 303 double rifle

I have seen it before, a few years ago and mentioned I should get one some day
He's mentioned it more often recently and said we should sit down and make a plan

Now I have my recently repaired and shooting well Remington rolling block no.5 303 to take and shoot with him
I'm sure it will get things off to a good start

But I think I should also take a decent bottle of whiskey for when we start the dance on the 303 double rifle

Now I like whiskey a lot and used to get given bottles pretty often prior to retiring late last year
    I've run out myself
And to be honest haven't brought a bottle myself for 20 years despite getting through a couple of bottles a year
Pretty bad that I just drink what's there !

So what should I buy for this particular task ??

    Cheers

    Glenfiddich, or Laphroig.
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

Jenna Jameson was pretty good too
    Seriously though Jameson's is ok.
I like Chivas regal. Had a bottle of Dimple (one of the old locals favourites) for my 40th but at the time always got the whiskey burps from it and wasnt a fan.

@caberslash. 100%. Suntory, in my view, superb. However, if you want old school, Highland Park. A bit lighter? 14 year old Oban.

Not bloody glenfidich it's the Johnny walker red of single malts, or Laphroaig unless he likes iodine and peat. Talisker skye is a lot milder but still islay styled or Glenlivet 15 or tomatin 12 if he likes a softer single.
It's to put him in a negotiating mood isn't it? So it has to be something that's not hard work to drink.
Good luck, and I expect a shot next time I'm down and will bring suitable refreshments for aftea wards.

You also have to look the part. Allow me please to guide you, son.

Jodhpurs, leather boots, deerstalker hat, matching tweed jacket and monocle. A fob watch but no pretentious watch gold chain -- some khaki lanyard will do for that, just to make a deliberate understatement and show you have old money.

Say, have you time to grow some lamb chops?

And remember at all times, he is not so much interested in money as in knowing his beloved goes to a good worthy and most appreciative home.

    Fuck no !
I'm a shorts kind of guy

But I always take a newly restored vintage rifle when I visit him
So he knows I'm serious despite the shorts
