303 info

Gday specimens. Workmates dad has a 303. It will probably come up for sale soon but could I get some info on it and possibly a value please?
Relatively tidy. Barrel is definitely on the average condition. Middle of the road, maybe a 5?
Now my limited knowledge would suggest it's always been a sporter. No real military markings like the sold out of service arrows etc.
Never been drilled and tapped for scope mounts either. Lithgow jobbie

Really? That would be disappointing.
I realize retardme isn't a true indicator but you don't get much for a hundy.
And looking closely to the pics they could be a really tiny crossed arrows by the gas port on the left side.
The ones I'm used to are the size of a Knox form

It is a Slazenger sporter converted in Aussie from surplus rifles in the 1950's. They are uncommon nowadays and that is a fairly tidy example. The .303 variation is probably more common in NZ than Aussie because of the restriction on military calibres over there. They were also available in .22 Hornet (with a different magazine), .303/22(also known as the .22 Sprinter) .303/25, and .303/270. I would think something in the $250-350 range for its collectability.
