Tightest group iv ever shot to be honest.

If the forum chrony ever shows up at my house il be set.
I shot the same ammo the other day, with similarly pleasing results. Downloaded the sako ballistic app out of interest. Added all the info and shot out to 350yd, everything bang on. 2595fps out of my 20” sako a2.

My browning only likes 165 SST with 2206. It’s a super accurate versatile hunting weight bullet.

Having my rifle sitting in the gunshop until my new licence arrives is a bit like being a kid who's had his Xmas presents taken away! Ha ha

are the 165 SSts any better than 165 nosler ballistic tips?

I havnt tried the nosler BTs but the red box is usually around half the price or just over as Nosler are 50 projectile boxes not 100.

Probably why most people try the SSTs first and they seem to work okay so they leave it at that

@bumblefoot, I'd take @xtightg up on that offer of the 165gr GameKing if I were you.

It's an exceptional, proven bullet that won't let you down. A great place to start with reloading for the .308, as I can tell you (and so can many others) what load of what powder will work in your rifle with a 95%+ probability of being correct! It's one of those bullets that seems to work across a wide range of rifles, barrel lengths, powders and "hotness" of load.

If it doesn't shoot bug holes with 44gr of AR2208 at 2.800" COAL, I'll drink Waikato for a week.

    Just...say...the...word

    That's a bit harsh Dave.

@Flyblown; Thanks for that; I'm just a little bit broke at the moment after buying the rifle. Putting some $sss aside for a scope for it. I was going to get another Nikon from Natchez, but it's not worth it if I have to go to Auck to pick it up (bloody NZ Post!). I have got a new, unused, refurbed Nikon Prostaff 2-7; but getting to be an old bugger now with old bugger eyes, so was going to get a 3-9. But bugger it; I may as well just use it! I've got it sitting on my 303 and haven't sighted it in yet so may take it off and put it on the 308 (when my bloody licence arrives!!!) I've got a Redfield Revolution to put back on the 303. The Nikon Buckmaster II on my 223 s a much nicer scope to use compared to the Redfield. Clearer and brighter

I was going to sell my Marlin XS7 708 and put the funds towards a scope. The barrel channel is too tight and it shoots like shit; 4" groups..... I was going to rout the channel but don't want to f*** it up and then have it worthless. My DIY skills are similar to Homer Simpson's mastery of the art So I thought I'd just sell it at a good price as a project gun, be honest about how it shoots and throw the money into a Leupold or Vortex etc. But I'm unsure if I can until my renewed licence arrives. Too be honest; the Howa Lightweight just "feels right" for me.

Hi I need some help, i have a few rifles just to confuse my life when hunting I have just bought a tika super light cut down to 16.5 with a dan can in 308 for my bush gun so i knock around my other rifles as much. I dont know much about projectiles and get so much different advise that im confused. I want to shoot from close up to say 250/300 if one is on a slip or skid site etc. i know there is no bush load that shoots through branches i was thinking of 165 federal power shocks but when i puicked up the new toy i was told to use and i bought some belmont 130 hollow points they dont group that great would be alright if i was on target maybe out to 200.
i want bang flop to save the hounds legs!
