Thread: 308 factory ammo recommendations

I like the Belmont 150gr with the hornady soft point. $115 for 100 rounds
.308 WIN 150gr Soft Point (Hornady Projectile) – 100 rounds – Belmont Ammunition

or $35 for a box of 20. I dont even bother reloading anymore. shoots 5 shots 1moa in my Zastava.

This could be an awesome option, uses the same projectile as the Hornady whitetail (Hornady 150gr SP). I (and many others) use this projectile as a good cheap option when handloading. If it shoots well in your rifle then you wont beat it for value and you'll get pretty good performance on game.

I just know that Fed blue box will almost always shoots well - assuming the barrel is good and the gunsmithing work for the suppressor was done correctly.

Had excellent grouping from the Belmont stuff last time I tested a .308. Sadly this rifle is now on the ban list.

@Nugget connaisseur do you know what brass they load with? Shame they dont seem to do 20's at the moment. Bugger to buy 100 rounds and find out they wont shoot

Its PMC brass. But sometimes i think they will use ADI brass if they run out of PMC brass.

Im sure you can pass on 4 boxes at no loss if you find it doesnt shoot well. But i have not seen it shoot bad in anything yet. RPR, Ar10 and 2 hunting rifles all shoot good with it. But in saying that rifles are individuals.
Maybe you could ask around and see if someone locally has a box laying around

Good man. I'll just take a punt. If its halfway decent brass I'll just plink and then reload. Only gunna be shot out of a bush gun with red dot so 2-3 Moa should be fine
