    @7.62 I think you are right, hummed and arhh'd at the time about chopping the 308 from 20". I always regretted it slightly, was truely versatile in that format.

    Regarding the 280... you maybe right. I'd does push a 162gr ELD-X at 2835fps or a 150 at 2950... no stag has walked away from that in the tussock. Not sure the 7mm08 will equal that. However if it becomes a safe queen I will have to move it on.

    Interesting discussion, I'm glad I didn't go to short with my 308. 19" is a nice compromise with the suppressor on.

    Or just get a 284...7mm ballistics but thumps up close.
