Recently this Winchester model 1892 32-20 came out of my grand fathers gun safe. Looking up serial number has this manufactured in 1913.
Does anyone else here a 32-20 gun? Anyone reload for this or know a good place to factory ammo?

Nice rifle! I have 2 32-20, a Cadet Martini action converted from 310 and a Savage Bolt Action with 5 shot mag.
Yes I reload for them, just started a couple of mths back.
Check out the Cast Bullets Association website. Jeffinz is a Admin and a Kiwi in Dunedin with a lot of experience/knowledge. Cast bullets are a great solution of 32-20 loads. Lots of info on the web.
I know a lot but it seems less every day...
Yep, got a 32-20 bolt gun as well. Savage 23C with quite a good barrel.
Haven't done anything with it for 6 years so need to get back to it.
Had less than satisfactory success with cast projectiles and that included Starline factory ammo. Need to do more work on cast loads.
Was using 93 gr cast from Neil Hayes IIRC with either Lil'gun or Unique.
Jacketed bullets however hum in the old gun.
Use Hornady 100 gr XTP and Sierra 90 gr. Both shoot very well at 50 yards. The Sierra perform the best but are like hen's teeth to find.
Use either Reloder 7 or ADI 2205.
Use W-W brass or Starline. CH4D dies.
For the OP, I'd go a mild cast load.
Depends upon barrel condition whether it's worth shooting.
Cheers thanks for that, i'll check them out
Cool you have 2 different 32-20's a falling block & bolt action.
Based off ammo viability i assume anything 32-20 now would be getting quite rare
i have just bought a marlin 1894 in 32-20 and a second in 25-20, fun guns, 1894CL models, and got given a 1894 25-20 short rifle for parts.
i reload for the 32-20 and have a mold on order for the 25-20, 85gr,
Hornady makes 85, 100gr XTP pistal bullets for reloading, reloaders Had a few boxes, XTP 100gr, as at 2 weeks ago.
quite a few cast bullet makers, big resurgence in these two calibers due to cowboy action shooting, most are shooting 100-115gr cast at 1200-1500fps,
Starline, Winchester, Hornady, Remington make brass,
your 1892 is a strong action, and can push the jacked bullets to about 2000fps, if you hunt rabbits for the pot a 1200-1300 fps load still kills well,
Still trying to find a Savage Model 25 in 25-20 and 22 Hornet. One day.....
Got lucky back in 2013, found a factory winchester box sitting on a shelf for half price. Must have been sitting there a while. About $50 for 50 but I'm not expecting to get lucky again
Good to see there is a wealth of knowledge here for 32-20 and a number of people reloading it. One day I'll rely on it.
For now it will likely sit in its safe and come out to hit targets every so often. Old girl probably won't see any more bunnies or pigs
Was amazed to see that ammo on Trademe as I have about 400 rounds of factory 25/20....32/20...38/40 and 44/40 sitting around at the moment but reload them so it gathers dust.
I have a suppressed savage 23c and a Bisley Colt in 32/20 and find cast and factory prjectiles work well

Interesting how many Savage 23C rifles are around,2 just recently sold on here. I have shot Deer Wallabies Hares Rabbits Geese and Possums with mine @Jhon I note that JeffinNZ is Jeff Brown from Beaver Grease in CHCH and a 303 310 and 32/20 shooter.Originally Posted by Jhon;[ATTACH
My pair of Savage 23s. 22 RF and 32-20. Popping up everywhere!
Yes I have the one in 32-20 and one with a pristine bore in 22 Hornet. 32-20 is recent and have not been able to shoot it yet.
