On the subject of the 6.5's,.260's etc, I agree they all have their quirks and are generally much of a muchness ie., it all comes down to twist-rate and barrel-length along with chamber-dimension. Pressures vary,but the Swedes/Norwegians showed that the 6.5 projo only needs "x" amount of fps, and rpm, to perform. That 1-7/8ths (ish) to-8 twist, between 2500 & 2800, works. I've never tried the commercial offerings in 1-9, but they could be fun with the light projo's, and pressures should be down. It's a real shame that .270's dont come in 1-8, I reckon That would be interesting
