Thread: 6.5 Gap Barrel

I have a 6.5 Saum gap Krieger barrel I had on a tikka t3. I got sick of neck turning brass and tried some expensive 6.5 gap hornady brass, but only 1-2 reloads from it and primer pockets were gone. Ended up taking barrel off. Shot about 350 rounds. Thinking of putting it back on again but would like to open neck up so it’s a simple resize 7mm saum brass and shoot. Who would be a good smith to take this to, would prefer to use someone not to far from Taupo so I could drop off not send.

Cant suggest a gunsmith except who I would not reccomend!
If you turned 100 new Norma brass then they should last ages unless you are boosting the hell out of it, I had 14 loads on the last lot of Norma before I fitted new barrel. Still OK although some primer pockets were just starting to loosen
Hornady brass was rubbish, have your tried ADG brass it did not need turning apparently. I have some to try but still using Norma at moment as I have plenty of it
