Thread: 6.5 PRC

I just got this back last week & took it up the range yesterday in the wind, can you tell it hasn't rained in a wee while here



It is an ex 300 Win Mag T3x action with a T3 stock & 24" #RM Bartlein 1-8 barrel with 5/8x24 thread



I put one of my suppressors & scopes on it for load development.



I got a reamer to discover for myself how the 6.5 PRC would preform & see if it has the potential to be the next 6.5 Creedmoor



It shoots the Hornady ammunition pretty well too, which is quite the bonus for a non-hand loader



It has fired a total of 27 rounds & I'm very happy with it, I hope the 300 PRC I have coming is as good

Its the Ruger Compact Magnum, all Saami speced now

Yep but you need a magnum bolt face, at least a 2.970" internal length magazine & not a Tikka barrel

Hi Hreg, compared to a 264 win mag, do you put more or less powder to achieve same speed with the 147 elm? And is the case capacity of the Prc greater or smaller than the 264? Ta

The Steel in Tikka barrels doesn't like a new chamber being reamed into it.

Very few Guys will do it.
