I see Fierce Rifles use a standard long action with a mag bolt face for their 6.5 & 300 PRC. Maybe you could do the same on the Sako 85?

I like mine doing 2920 with 20" barrel shooting 147eld-m .none of my 6.5x284 went that well

I was looking at the Sauer Buzz, and they have a 22" barrel, which I was going to cut to 20". So thats a pretty good load....If it all works out I will hit you up....

Im curious why you would cut 2 inches off it would void any guarantee of accuracy with a new rifle, it doesn't make it noticably lighter, or noticably shorter, and reduces velocity by probably 100fps. Even if supressing it with an overbarrel and cutting 2 in off to compensate you will still end up with the rifle being longer than it originally was. It just seems to be expenditure for no practical reward.

Just purely for the practical side of things. Yes I know 2 inches is only 2 inches, but the amount of times I've cursed a longer rifle while crawling through Kaweka Scrub has convinced my that its worth it. Even if I go down to 18". That way with this calibre I will still be going faster than a 6.5 CM or 6.5x55 with a full length barrel (I have read that you loose approximately 25fps per inch of barrel).....well that's the theory anyway.
