68 gr BTHP hornardy, any one use for hunting.

Anyone tried this bullet for hunting, I've finally found a heavy that my Sako 75 .223 will shoot ok with,
rifle doesn't like ELD, or serria heavies, its a 1-8 twist, but seams to favor the 55 gr.
I see what others think of the 68gr BTHP,
If not, I will try sum, 63/65 gr serrias when i find sum, or the new Nosler 70 AB.
I've used the Hornady 87hr BTHP in a 6mm rem, and it was a decent hunting bullet.

They're very questionable. I've heard too many reports of poor performance with the 6.5mm and 30cal BTHP's.

Try the TMK if you want a heavy bullet that's easy to get to shoot.

I've shot a few wallabies and one or two goats and fallow with the 68 BTHP and found them good - much better than the 69 SMK which tended to pencil through wallabies. Haven't tried the TMK for comparison or the BTHP on thicker skinned game.

I've used about 300 of them on goats, pigs, fallow and wallabies and found them to be good.I don't think I would use them on large red deer.

Looks like very few favorable, reports,
I will try the 63/65gr Serria, as everything 70gr plus, I've tried is not shooting much better than 2" at 100m.

I've shot a bunch of goats with them. Nasty wounds.

I couldn't get them to group well with my 1-8twist Ruger ranch. Going to try making trout lures with them. The 70gr gmx shoot well and that is pretty much all I use. Not explosive as 55 gr but no lead through everything.
