Yep, I've had one for a few years now. Effective on smaller sized deer at sensible ranges, up to about 200m for me personally. I run 75gr HP Sierra with H335 for 3050fps for goats mainly, though I have taken reds for meat with it. Very accurate and easy to shoot. Mine will stabilize up to 95gr with the 1:10 twist, would suggest 1:8 for heavier.

Great little calibre. You'll love shooting it - accurate and soft on the shoulder.

There is a massive free file available from somewhere on the interwebs that has collated a loooong list of loads for 6x45. I have a copy of it at home I can send you if you like.

There is also a very long thread on another NZ based forum that has useful info as well.

Thanks for the replies team. I've always been curious about this wee guy, plus I really like 6mm's in general. There is a custom rifle built on a Ruger American sitting at H&S Dunedin with dies too. But looks like I just spent my spare funds on a classic .222 instead...

If its the one I'm thinking of, it was on TM last year and sold cheap. If its the one, it was built by Robbie Tiffen, who also did mine on a Sako L461.

@Dama dama you score Ryan's wee beauty?

Let me now if you want some H335 to run through it. Have a bit to move on.

You should know by now that perusing the second hand racks just gets you into trouble!

Drop me an email foster @ pricefencing.co.nz and I'll send you a scan of Ken Waters "Pet Loads" for 222 - he was the doyen of 222 reloading as I recall - I have @Kiwi-Hunter (s) copy on loan just now!

Sure does. Will be a few weeks before I can get over Ryans way to pick it up unfortunately, but looking forward to it.
