    7.62x39 Norinco Bush Ranger

Hey guys, gun city are selling the grade 2 (some transport damage supposedly) rifles for 249 this weekend and was thinking of picking one up for a knock around gun and for my cousin to use as he is getting into shooting. Are they worth it? anyone have experience/problems/good things to say about these guns? Like the caliber already, betting one of you has one knocking around the safe and can tell me if its a score or if im blowing my milkshake money.

    Cheers.

The one I played with was shit. Lucky to hit a ice cream container at 50m. Could just be that gun though. Calibers great in the SKS

If you are going to buy one look it over VERY carefully. Quality varies dramatically, particularly Guncity's pile of them. Their grade 2 could just as easily have only 1/2 the rifling.

Had one a few years back and as the saying goes shot like an old lady flinging Poo. Was pleased to see the end of it.

From people Ive talked to they seem to be pearlers or duds (but that seems to be the case with norinco in general) for 249 I think ill take the gamble they go for more then that on TM so im sure ill be able to at least break even if im not a fan. Cheers for the feed back.

i have the jw105 (223 version) and it's ok. the action is not very smooth and it isn't high quality but i'm not unhappy with it. shoots fine, haven't missed a target yet.

Just got out and tested it for the first time manage to get a grouping of about 1.5-2 inch at 150m (measured using range finder) with shitty barnaul ammo so im pretty stoked with that going to try it on some goats tomorrow hopefully.

    Sounds good Haggie

Couple of hours to free float the barrel, and one of Nathan Fosters bedding kits, and you will have a sweet little bush rifle.

Haggie-generally the"bisley small arms"type of these rifles is superior to the"polytech"type.
Ive got one and had more than a few issues with it initially.
guncity though I must say didnt hesitate to sort these.also have it &the .303 threaded for a suppressor which is shared.
i stripped the crappy finish off the stock and oil finished it ,made my own recoil pad out of jandals &fitted it,and bedded the recoil lug and first2"of the barrel but did seal the rest of the channel with resin&matt anyhow. shes locked solid in that set up with plenty of stock clearance.
I fitted a bipod as well.
I realise its a case of cheap &cheerful, but it allows me to try ideas and shag aboutwith little effect on the rig as opposed to munting a topline rig.
.mine likes the barnaul125gn,but sprays that 123gn like a mad womans shit!

Kotuku , interesting comment on the end of your thread. With the Bushranger I had it was the 123gr slugs I was useing and just wouldn`t group. About 8in group at 100mts.

Yea mine is a bisley and was preforming top notch with the 125 grain stuff. Im just going to use it as a bush pig dont mind if it gets too fucked based on the fact it cost only 250 buck. was considering trying subs through it but at 62 cents a shot (if you buy a hundred including delivery) I cant be bothered as its cheap fun. give these guys a look they are good to deal with BARNAUL - Home friendly and best pricing around.

The Barnaul 125gr load is outstanding. Accurate in every x39 I've seen, very good terminal performance too.
