Can I adjust the weight of the factory trigger on my Remington 788?
First impressions of the trigger is no.
But I'm sure someone will know @ebf

Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Puku, on the factory trigger not that I am aware of, unless you get a gunsmith to mess with the sears etc.
There are however aftermarket triggers available, definitely Timney and maybe Jewel as well.

Cheers @ebf.
I think I'll leave it, it's not worth much anyway and barrel is pretty rough.

Nice shooting! Once I get through the ammo I bought for brass I will start to reload.

The former- check the date.
It was my son's mate's rifle he got from his uncle. It was the roughest POS I've ever seen, including a hand-filed base with loose rings, surface rust and 80% of the varnish missing.
Redid the stock, got some reasonable rings, bedded it and massaged the trigger. He was very happy with the end result.
