In my experience the 6.5 has;
less recoil
Is inherently accurate. To the point that I found any powder/ pill combo just flat out shot
Great bc to weight
The only downside in my limited experience was the animals stood there for way long after being shot. Like up to 30 seconds where as a 7mm would flatten them. I have heard this from others aswell. Just a trade off I guess
I think the concern is hunting public land north island shooting them on the slip. Anchoring makes them easy to find, the $mm does that. The 6.5 may not. Mind you only using the amax.
