That 22 inch rem mag sounds like the ideal NZ hunting rifle, actually anything pushing a 7mm A-Max at 2900fps+ is ideal.:thumbsup:

YOU'RE NOT GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR CALIBRE WITHOUT A 30 INCH BARREL BECAUSE YOU COULD GET EVER SO SLIGHTLY MORE VELOCITY WHICH GIVES YOU A REAL, OBSERVABLE DIFFERENCE IN THE REAL WORLD, HONEST.

(I'll stick with lighter and shorter and deal with losing that 34 feet per second.)

And a 7mm Remington Magnum in a short barrel is a .280 with lots of muzzle blast and a nasty kick.
