Yep @Kooza has a 20 inch suppressed t3 7RM. With the right powder still runs 162 at 3k
My t3 using 2225 is running 162 at 2950 from a 20

20 not really a pig tho is it....maybe a carbine?
Doc Watson done a shortened RM not sure if its a pig either though.....try 16 or less for a pig and I'd say the RM is completely wasted in that format
I'm going to have to re-look at my 7mm mag, R93, 24" barre,l 162amax, 50thou jump, 71gr 2217, getting 2854.
That doesn't sound right Stug......
Yeah seemed slow to me, but a 160 accubond seated same with 70gr (?) 2217 gives 29?? fps.
Doc W's 7RM was 20" and very nice indeed. I probably should have bought it when I had the chance
My 7RM (bought off DW) is either 20 or 21" barrel and runs Berger 168s at 3050
Nah same chrony gave 3060 fps with 71.5gr 2217, 162 amax in my 26" 7mm rem mag. Drops out to 700 - 800 were fine.
Im running 68 grn 2217 with a 162eldx. Had a under half inch group with that and havent worked out the speed yet. 71grn was half inch but was pretty uncomfortable to shoot
21.5 :D any shorter and it gets harder to do the cool stuff

Chopped my T3 back to 22" and put a DPT can on, at 24" with the 162 AMax and N560 I was getting 3090 fps, after the chop and can the same load produced 3123 fps ! Not what I was expecting, grouping improved too.
Only other factor that I thought might have influenced this was velocity measured at 24" was at the NZDA range in Upper Hutt, at 22" at the NZDA range Christchurch.
Keeep 7mrm at 24 in get a 7mmo8 for bushpig just my opinion :ORLY:
I was always told speed isnt everything. Seems like everyone want to be up @3000fps
Speed certainly isn't everything, great consistency in accuracy should always be the primary objective, but if you can get near max possible velocity (for your cartridge/rifle package) while keeping that great accuracy then why would you not want the extra advantage from reduced windage and more terminal energy etc/extended useful range?
With suppressing a super short 7mm Rem Mag you need to be wary of the pressure at the muzzle and the effect that will have on the suppressor.
last thing you want to do is wreck your suppressor
Has anyone run factory ammo through shortened 7mm Rem Mags? And if so, what performance are you getting and how is it to shoot?
Don't do it....do what Trooper90 says...or get a short 308....
Just saying...
Seems like you end up simular to a 284 performance with a ton more powder?
Already have a short 308 for bush hunting. Just toying with the idea of an all rounder with factory ammo from bush to tops.
