    7mm RM in the bush?

Recently upsized from .270 to 7mm RM. Rifle is full 24inch legnth + suppressor so designed for tops hunting as intended. However, this weekend there is a chance the weather will force us to head into the beech for some bush stalking. I'm a bit worried that the 7mm RM at 10-20m is going to fly right through the deer and risk it running off before it drops. Am I being paranoid?

FYI I'm using 168gr Federal Berger Hybrid rounds. Do I just aim for front shoulder to make sure I get some bone contact to ensure expansion of the bullet?

High impact velocity generally gives more bullet expansion, not less. I'm pretty sure most of the 'it was too close and the bullet zipped through without expanding' stories are actually code for 'I missed'.

The biggest problem with a Remmag in the bush these days is people spend too much time on the interweb talking with people who spend too much time on the interweb.

But I can't be spending too much time on the interweb, surely. I mean, I don't even own a 7mm Rem Mag !

If you’re hunting on your own you could consider taking off the suppressor when you’re in the Bush.
