Or go old school 7x57
Youd have to go creed more or something trendy then![]()
Just leave it as 7mm08 and send the 162gr ELD-M.
Worked a treat in my 7mm08 until I rebarreled it to 7mm Creedwhore

Only as a wildcat, doesn’t seem to have taken off, although looks like necking up brass is easy and can just use 6.5CM bushing dies with 7mm bushes.
Advantage over 7mm08 being slightly shorter case can be helpful if limited by mag length, shoulder angle being steeper means less case growth.
Basically the same as 260 vs 6.5 Creedmoor.
If you are keeping the .243 as your main hunting rifle and you can't get a buyer for the 25.06 then go 7/08, you can always advertise it later as a dual calibre rifle to suit all needs.
I'm trying to get to heaven before they shut the door.
Keep the .25/06 . You love the .243 and this is just a wee bit more of good thing. Sell the 7/08 barrel or use to stake tomatoes.
75/15/10 black powder matters
280 ai. Be good in the open country you hunt. Brass is easy enough to find. My 270's probably heading that way at some stage.
OK Bubba .
