Hi I run a 7mm rem mag (similar to the the blaser 7mm) in my R8 and a 300 blaser mag. They are both excellent. The accuracy of the 7mm with Eldx 162 or hunter VLD is .25moa . Recoil is very manageable with my rifle which runs an MAE suppressor and night force. Only down side is the 9.5 twist doesn't really allow you to use the 175 or 180gr bullets well.
I've just developed a .5 moa load for the 300 using 178eldx. I'm working on bringing this down to .25 . Definitely more recoil. But handily the Trajectory is effectively the same as the 7mm out past 300m . Just uses more powder 80gr vs 69 of 2217.
Ive both but you can go wrong with either. Nothing I've shot with the 7mm has gone more than 10 seconds. Nor have I missed a shot in varying conditions over the past 2 years. I expect the 300 will be exactly the same with a fraction more recoil. Remember to get really slippery 300 rounds you are looking at 200+ grains. That's a LOT is bullet with all the other consequences. By the way all my barrels are semi weight and I think suits the magnums. Down side is rifle feels heavy after a day in the bush. But worth it when you get presented with a cross valley shot and you have the utter confidence if you can see it you can shoot it.

Interim load development. 5 shots 100m I pulled the top one. Definitely can do better based on my experience of the rifle and blaser barrels.
