    7mm08 - 7mm rem mag

    Morning all,

Just want to ask a question that popped into my head last night.

Can a 7mm08 rifle effectively be chambered to 7mm rem mag? would it be an costly process? from my understanding the bolt face would need work as well.

    What do the experts think?

    Cheers,

    Willus

Yes you could do it. You might also have magazine length issues.

Probably better off selling the 7mm08 and buying a 7mmRM that way you will also have 24" barrel. If you are patient you should be able to find a second hand RM about and the 7mm08 shouldn't be a problem to sell.

If you want to keep the same bolt face and get better performance have a look at 284 or 280ai.

Twist rate of your existing barrel could be a limiting option as well.

Sell it and buy a remmag especially if your talking tikka for the price to ream and do all the little bits will add up to a lot more then the loss of selling one and buying another.

Also Tikka steel is very hard and not many people will let you ream them
Robbie at gunworks with the 284win reamer would be your best bet

    +1 for the 284 or 280 options.
