Sorry for the long delay, didn't spot your reply. I am using 145 grain Speer flat base projectiles as they are what I had in stock. They are giving dead on 2,800 fps in the 26 inch barrel with 41 grains of AR2206H. My son had been using the 162 grain ELDM's with AR2209 and R17 powders with good results. The rifle is custom built and I have not measured the barrel twist so your results may differ in your Winchester? Although old fashioned I often prefer flat base projectiles for rifles that are a little grumpy about shooting well. Something to try. Boat tails can be finicky in some rifles.

No worries, I'd all but forgotten my question. I got to around 2600 using 2209 but it was a bit hot so have settled on a load that chronys at around 2500
I'm now playing with some 120's that I picked up the other day as the the bigger bullets can be a bit ruthless on smaller deer. 2900 seems to be the limit in my 20 inch barrel with those.
