Thread: 7mmRem Mag or 7mm08. Pros vs cons. Looking to shoot anywhere from 100m to 350

I do not really see the reason why somebody would want to use a magnum calibre for <350m.

7mm08 OR 308 (much better ammo availability) would make more sense for this application imho.

NOTE: with the right reloads/ammunition, and shooting capability(skill) even a 308 would be capable of shots beyond the 350m if need be. If you cant hit a target @350m reliably with a 308 a magnum will not do you any good.

On the contrary, more expensive, more powder, more recoil, less barrel life...
