    Adding baffles to DPT

Has anyone added a baffle to their DPT suppressor for more noise reduction? Was one baffle a noticeable difference to the ears?

Yea, stainless the first in line, especially if it's a mag cal. Enjoy.

Remove one baffle and shoot it, that will give you an idea of what difference one baffle makes.

We have stainless baffle plus 2 extra. Very quiet. We also clean very regularly as in strip right down and regrease. So when someone accompanies us on a hunt and says your gun is super quiet we "can" [excuse pun] only grin. Each to their own. Its our setup and routine.

When I brought a DPT for my T3X .270 22.5" barrel, you get the standard 4 plain baffles. Recoil/noise was shit. Add a stainless and another baffle - total 6 baffles - much better in reduced recoil/noise. You get quoted 'lightest DPT on the market '- because your getting the minimum number of baffles at purchase off the shelf...
I also run a Gunworks suppressor - older Spartan style, longer than the DPT but great recoil/noise reduction. About the same weight with the 6 baffle DPT. Just an opinion of course.

I recently add 2 baffles while at range. I did notice any difference with supers, didn't try subs. As a side note when i took supressor off completly and got the same point of impact on target, supprised me that did. Noise was a lot more affensive though

One experiment you can do is as follow:
Use a normal pair of earmuffs ( it does not work with electronic ear muffs)
Shoot 1 round with bare muzzle.
Then shoot 1 round with the suppressor and just 1 baffle ( the front one preferably).
Then shoot 1 round with a second baffle in place
And carry on with each extra baffle you have.
The ear muffs act as a filter and will make you appreciate much better how each baffles decrease the sound reduction.

Only run 2 baffles on my 308 to keep it short as possible, it doesn't seem to make any difference to running 4 so I've just stuck with it

Yeah likewise. I struggle to notice any difference with an extra baffle, also no difference with a baffle or two less. A few of my suppressors have a baffle or two removed.
Barrel length probably effects things as well.

You will need to speak up a bit but I am interested in why you fellahs use a suppressor. Ha ha ha ha

Yes, . I have try dpt with 7 baffles and standard 4 baffles, it’s definitely quieter but not in huge difference.
One baffle makes no difference to me.

I notice the noise reduction with extra baffles way more when shooting subs, full power loads I just run standard baffle setup,4 I think it it but might drop a couple to shorten and lighten things up.
