Sounds like the advice I've received from several Govt departments lately. So helpful...
But, in this case it's right - you can get a poncy tool to depress the retention pin and then turn the sight post nut which should be a squared post arrangement with threads on the corners of the square. The nut is captive, the post moves up and down inside it's square hole - I can't recall the adjustment steps off the top of my head but that's how the bog standard one worked. If you were cunning and patient you could wrangle a 'fine adjustment' buy unscrewing the post and turning it a quarter turn or a half etc and then screwing it back in...
