Advice on Model 7
Hi all,
I’m looking to buy a model 7 for my girlfriend. She really wants one with an old school wooden stock. Finding it hard to locate one.
308 ideally but smaller fine too
Is second hand the best option here? Is it possible to get a wooden stock fitted if I buy her a new gun with another stock?
I don’t know much about guns and this is a surprise for her. I don’t have a licence but have someone who can do the actual buying for me.
Any help appreciated.

Has your girlfriend got a licence?

Try and get a .243 for her.
I'd recommend getting whatever is cheapest to source and chucking it in a laminate stock.
Invest in a Trigger Tech Model 7 trigger if she's the one! ;)

@JacketRacquet I’m sure this is all pretty obvious but here’s a few things to take into consideration:
-your girlfriend needs a firearms license, otherwise it’s a no go
-your associate with a firearms license who purchases the rifle will need to physically give the rifle to your (licensed) girlfriend, as you cannot legally be in possession of a firearm
-wooden stock model 7s occasionally come up for sale, but you might have to wait a while
-you can purchase a new model 7 with a synthetic stock and the then fit a wood stock at a later date (if you can find one, or get a custom wood stock). The romance of a wooden stock goes out the window pretty quickly when you’ve spent a few days hunting in pissing rain, and the stock has swelled a bit and your point of impact has changed. Synthetic or carbon fibre is more practical for real world hunting

Yea she has a licence. I have a buddy who will buy it on my behalf so I can gift it to her

Sorry can you explain to me what a trigger tech is?

I have a friend who has a very accurate wooden stocked Model 7 in 7mm/08. He was talking about selling it as he numerous other rifles to play with and hasn't used the M7 for some years. I'll mention that you're looking for one.

Id recommend getting your license first, then learning a bit about what to look at when buying second hand so you dont end up with a turd that needs rebarreling.
bear in mind that you will be spending in excess of 1000 even if it is without a scope and suppressor
maybe theres another gift like a helicopter flight into a hunting block
