    Advice re storing Wooden Stock

I have a really nice unfired rifle with as new walnut stock, CZ Lux model. I intend to hunt with it, not keen on safe queens. But nor am I keen on water soaked walnut so I have acquired an appropriate synthetic to switch the rifle in to.

Question, is there any long term risk of the wooden stock warping if stored in congenial conditions (dry stable temp) off the rifle?

Any tips apart from occasional rub with furniture oil/polish?

    cheers

Keen to see what comes up on here.

Would also be keen to see if there is any input on restoring rubbing on laminate stocks - mine has rubbed on my pack straps.

@Hunter_killer look into the Amour All and Tru Oil method. I used it for restoring a stock might help might not.

Mate, this may not apply lol
I have a walnut stocked rifle. Love it and use everywhere. Bush, mountains, rain or shine. When the time comes I guess I may refurbish it. Maybe?? Personally I can’t see the point in having an item I love then putting it in a closet and never using it.
My advice enjoy the rifle and accept that it’ll get the odd mark. The marks from hunting are earned, they tell a story, it’s always the ones in transport or at home that annoys the most.
