Easy enough at the brownells end IF the manufacturer is registered for export and the stock is less than US$100. Just order and pay. Otherwise you will need a $250US export permit. Should hit NZ within a week.
Now the problems start. Before ordering you will need an NZ Import permit from NZ Police. No real problem. Takes a couple of weeks.
When the stock is stopped by NZ Customs be prepared for a long wait while they process the backlog. When they finally find it, they will contact you for your permit that you then send up. Customs then release the stock and you have to pick up or arrange for a courier to pick up from the mail centre as NZ Post deem "gun parts" to dangerous to deliver.
Once you finally get your stock and signed off permit you then have you notify the police of the import and then they sign of the permit.
Thats basically the Post April 2019 process.![]()
