All these RD's and Holographic are no good if you in the ageing or poor eyesight group
They do not have Dioptre adjustments
Correct me if wrong - but all I have seen - Docter - Holosun - Burris do not

But I reckon they are excellent with the right person for the suited application (close bush/snap shooting

If you need glasses for distance you need to wear those when using a red dot. Not really a problem as you are wise wearing something for eye protection. Optician can also correct for astigmatism which takes care of the starburst effect. I have slight astigmatism myself @Phil_H but so slight it's not worth correcting for. I just use the same area/corner of the astigmatism starburst as my aim.

Wearing glasses and using scopes is a PITA. I have to lift the glasses up to look through, I know you can adjust the focus on the scope but that never worked like I wanted. Now I use an Intermediate Eye Relief scope. Eye relief on these scopes is between a conventional and a scout scope, about 6in. For me they combine the best features of scout and conventional scopes. The downside is that they can be difficult to mount compared to a conventional scope.

I have no problem shooting with glasses on and looking over the top of them with normal Scopes
But I had to change my brand of Scope to ones that had better Diopter +

Cheers there sarvo..yeah I'm sure on the wrong side of the age fence but touch wood I do not have the need for glasses....yet?..
when it comes to hunting and lining up on whatever. Peering through the phone book is a different story lol.
If Phil's offer turns out then that would most certainly tell me one way or the other whether or not I would want to pursue the idea.

I could still use a Red Dot etc
But it looked like a shattered Star
So snap shooting on a Pig was no problem
Sighting in was more the issue
