    Air rifle pellet trap

Hey guys, Anybody have some good ideas of either bought or home made (the cheaper the better) pellet traps for 1000fps air rifles. Also minimum safe distances to shoot from etc, and preferably quiet or can be made to be quiet. thanks

Bit of heavy carpet tacked to a bit of dowel and hanging behind your target should do?

a bit of 3-5mm plate set in a box behind target at 45deg so they hit the plate and go strait down.

If you want quiet a big lump of firewood probably better.

Look for an old stereo speaker, nail the back with wood, line with old carpet, bulldog clip on the front to hold the target. One advantage of the old stereo speaker is then the target is portable. There will always be noise shooting. Any distance under 5m is really only going to help you with trigger control practise. But most importantly make sure absolutely no-one can walk between your air rifle and the target box !
