Thread: Always Check!

I recently ordered in a DPT end cap brake and 2 baffles for it in size 270-7mm, I went to fit them today and resight my rifle in when I noticed that the baffles had 22CAL stamped on the side! Wasn’t wearing my reading glasses so was lucky to notice it before shooting the rifle, lesson is never assume and always check. I consider myself a cautious person and this gave me a fright when I realised what could have happened.

Have emailed and left a phone message @DPT so hopefully it gets sorted soon. Stay safe

Yes, I was contacted within half an hour with an apology, an explanation of how it happened and correct baffles are heading my way.

Bullet would’ve opened up the hole just nicely for you

While that's not good half an hour is a pretty epic response and dpt sorted it.
That's a win on both fronts (you spotting it before shooting and them acknowledging the error)

Sure could have been a disaster had you fire it, good spotting.

Great customer service,I've always thought/said it's not when everything runs smooth that counts,but how firm deals with it when the smelly stuff hits whirly thing. Good on you @DPT .

The baffle lettering should be in white like the brake.Good spotting ODL,you might have saved yr eyes.

Simple is best.
Other ideas for manufacturing could be, color coding the lettering on each piece so at a glance they all match, different caliber pieces have the cal stamped at a different point of the circumference, so when assembled they should all line up together.
