    Anemometer

Hi guys, been reading up on wind and wanted to get a wind metre to help with guessing and confirming. I understand it only measures where you are but thats cool and i'll start taking mote notice of the effects on natural indicators. Grass, trees etc.

Are the 20-25 buck ones on trade me good enough for this type of purpose??

yeah, iv had a couple I use them at work, the $30. ones. they do the job.
also look at the met service before you go out, there not far out. you will get an idea of what the peak value could be at given times through out the day.

ummm, about 100 high 20 wide 10 thick. light as. I got the one with the orange/yellow rubber case around it. just so it bounces. I can fairly well guess the wind speed now so don't use it much. the target guys are interesting, if you ask them the wind they will give you a moa value for a 308. they often wouldn't know the actual speed.

Buy Norway's DVD, it has a very simple to remember system of how to read wind in it. you will watch it, go "yeah right whatever", then you will walk around for the next few days looking how things bend with the wind picturing the hand movements from the dvd and go "bugger me he is right"
