Is there any advantage to one orientation or another ?
Here are some angled ones from Spuhr.
Why not just have screws vertical like in this conventional vortex pair ?
Or horizonal like on these Talleys ?

The idea is to not obstruct the view on your lateral turret and your vertical turret I believe.
But split horizontal rings have worked very well for years.
Beware of the spilt vertical ones, some like the warnes going on sako/ tikka/ cz have a tendency to ovalise or even f.ck your scope tube if over torqued.
