Any issue using a magnum suppressor on a non-magnum round?

Hi all - i've recently bought a howa 1500 in 7mm08. I'm looking to get a suppressor and there's a dpt one online second-hand for a reasonable price. It's a magnum suppressor though, and 7mm08 is not. Would there be any issues using this suppressor on my rifle? Thanks, in advance, for your help

No mate it will be fine, the magnum ones are simply built a bit tougher and therefore weigh a tiny bit more and are slightly longer. I wouldn't let it stop you. In terms of noise and recoil suppression it will work better than a non magnum

It will be too big, obscure the view and that pathetic little bullet will probably get lost inside it.

If its DPT, you can probably take some of the baffles off anyways.

Look mate, ya can't put an oversize can like a magnum on a non-magnum gun. It just doesn't work. U get too much back pressure cos the can is set for magnum rounds and it changes the point of-impact to the point that u wonder why you bought a FAG08 instead of a real cal. its never gonna work l til u either I increase the horsepower thru the can or go up to a respectable cal that can punch thru the pressure barrier that inhibits the 7mm cal performance to the point that your walkin k-rd lookin for johns. Unless its a 7mm-rem at least or a 30CAl you're dreamin.

This is my first rifle. Talked to quite a few decent hunters before making the call. And coughed up a decent amount of $$ to make the purchase. What's wrong with the calibre?
