Spikes upper, Spikes 12" BAR rail, Spikes gas tube, AP 18" SPR 4150 barrel, JP adjustable gas block, Mega billet lower, Geissele G2S trigger, AP NB BCG, Lantac muzzle brake, B5 bravo stock, BCM carbine buffer tube, Magpul grip, Nightforce SHV F1 4-14 FFP Mil/Mil scope with Nightforce throw lever, ADM recon mount, ADM bipod adaptor & 6-9" Harris bipod...
Just using 63gr Geko FMJ ammo...
Very nice ,
Thinking of handloading using bullets around the 68-77gr weight , like the idea of the SMK , but not the price , so will use something else thats cheaper .
The US used the Mk262 ammo in their Mk12 Mod 0 and 1's...
Cartridge, Caliber 5.56 mm, Special Ball, Long Range, Mk 262 Mod 0/1: 5.56×45mm 77-grain Open-Tipped Match/Hollow-Point Boat-Tail cartridge.
Mod 0 features Sierra Matchking bullet, while Mod 1 features either Nosler or Sierra bullet.
Mod0
Mod1
Put this Mk12Mod1 copy together a few years back
High Std Upper, DPMS BCG, PRI Tac Latch, Trueflight 1:8 18" barrel, Ops Inc brake, Daniel Defense FF 12" hand guard. ARM's QD Rings, Leupold Mk4 3-9 MR/T. BUIS are airsoft KAC items.
Lower is stock standard Bushmaster with the exception of the trigger and hammer which are out of an old Colt.
Shoots well with 77gr SMK and 24.5gr 2208 in Lake City cases. 2660 fps
Nice! looks the part! I think I will put my spare KAS covers on mine...

Kyle uses the Mk 12 special purpose rifle (less its secondary red-dot sight) in a sniper training scene. Alan Brown, who also built rifles for NSW, and High Caliber Sales built six of them for Lone Survivor. It’s interesting to note that NSW Crane delivered all Mk 12 rifles to the SEAL teams with rifle-length receiver extensions, typically with A1 fixed stocks. The reason is that they wouldn’t run reliably in full auto with a carbine-length system. However, the end users didn’t care about full auto on these rifles, so they would often retrofit them with collapsible stocks (such as the LMT SOPMOD shown here). Some would even install semi-auto selectors as well to lock out full-auto mode.

Whats the difference between these and a standard AR?
If it has FDE or OD color anywhere its an SPR and is therefore tactical.
Otherwise I guess my Cmmg Mk4 recce with vortex pst 2.5-10 would fit the bill
They where designed as a light sniper rifle & if the need arose a light machinegun .
I think the main features are its got a match grade barrel , free floated barrel & better trigger & designed to run a can .
Have a 18 inche SPR barrel coming , will look at 8208 & 68-77gr bullets , with a can .
What barrel did you go for?
I originally got a Mega Arms SS barrel, but replaced it due to a very tight chamber with the AP one... I'm happy very happy with the AP one.
A mate @ANTMAN has the Mega barrel and its fine on a near identical build as mine.
He's running the MAE suppressor which is a very good buy and looks the part.
I had intended to get a Mega Arms one , but it sold before I got around to getting it , the one I have coming is a WOA one I think .
Yeah will run a MAE 223 can on it ? , have a MAE 22mag can for my Hornet & have run it on a 223 , but will get the 223 model as its a little longer .
