Tikka build good rifles.
6.5x55 is a bloody good hunting caliber
But what really counts is what do "You" think of them.

Arguing with an Engineer is like Wrestling a Pig in Mud.
After awhile you realise the Pig loves it.

It is a reloaders caliber if ever there was one,if you dont reload perhaps look at other calibers.
I dont like the T3 myself but it is a quality rifle for the money.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
Yup as Cam said, to get the best out'a em performance wise you need to reload, they are accurate as & a good alround cal for most of NZ's big game beasties. If you'll guna use it in the bush alot then get a second safety hole or known as a "half cock" hole drilled in the bolt, best thing you can do to a T3![]()

Good rifle in a great calibre. If you like the 708 you will love the 6.5.
I regret selling mine, and will own another one when funds allow.
Depends on the brand of ammo. Some of the European brands of ammo load their 6.5x55 for modern rifles as it is a popular cartridge there. American stuff tends to be loaded lighter as they dont use the modern rifles in that calibre and most of the 6.5s there are older. But I would also agree that reloading allows for more out of this calibre but that is no different from almost every other calibre.
Sorry. If that is in reference to my comment, asking if a certain brand of rifle or certain cartridge is any good is opening the can of worms and waiting for the fish to bite. If you search the forum for Tikka or 6.5x55 I am sure you will have enough reading and debate to last you a week.
Personally. I own two T3s and love them and wouldn't hesitate to take any big game animal in NZ with a 6.5x55.
