Anyone had a Marlin .17 HMR stolen?

I come across a Marlin .17 HMR today that I have my suspicions about. Anybody had one stolen or know someone that has had one stolen? PM me details of any including Serial Number if poss and any distinguishing features. Could have been stolen a few years ago, but then again it could be legit.

Mate if you have any reason to suspect that it is stolen then make the Police aware. It will put your mind at rest and they will take it from there. No legit firearms owner should mind them checking.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

I ran the serial number with no luck, but most people don't record their serial numbers. The gun is in safe hands.
