Anyone had a play with FAB Bipod For AR/ AK Platforms?

As per title, I was browsing the depths of the interweb and came across the FAB Bipod For AR/ AK Platforms ( https://www.fab-defense.com/en/categ...-platform.html and https://www.fab-defense.com/en/categ...-platform.html ).

Don't know how useful the actual bipod wold be as anything other than a rifle stand for cleaning etc but what I was wondering is how this fits in with our A-cat laws as an alternative to an all-in-one stock and grip setup. Has anyone had a play with these or had that, or a similar discussion, with their FAO?

    Cheers

Most FAB gear looks like it's fallen out of the ugly tree.

tricky, as its not longer a "freestanding pistol grip" as it is supported at 2 points. but i do agree its bloody ugly and a bipod that far back would be not much use

No argument that it's an eye sore and that the actual bipod would be a waste of time.

What I was more looking at was then having the ability to use whichever AR stock suited you best (pinning collapsing stocks of course), without being tied to the usual A cat combo stocks. Has anyone been round the buoy on this issue regarding any other rifles with a similar handgrip that you could potentially look at getting on A cat with a small mag - like a Steyr or Tavor?

    its not a thumb hole

Important Changes to Arms Act 1983: semi-automatic firearms - Pistol Grip definition | New Zealand Police

otherwise all those e-cat AUGs would be a-cat apart from the mag
