Has anyone got the B.A.D lever mounter on their AR? The bolt release on a standard AR really grinds my gears and has stopped me from buying an AR. If these really work I might just get one, once I find out what is happening with the new arms bill.

BAD lever = bad idea, and just a bit more crap to hang off the gun IMO
If you replace a mag, your left hand (if you;re right handed) is 3-4 inches below the bolt release.. if you're an A Cat user, its 2" below
Not that hard to whack the only big black thing hanging on the left side of the gun

Yeah I know i'm a whinger but I just hate having to remove my hand from the pistol grip. Releasing the bolt is not the problem, its the locking it to the rear.
You lock it to the rear when the mag is empty - it does it itself :)
Not sure I've ever locked the bolt back other than empty ?
Just during stoppage drills, double feed etc.
I have just recently started using one on mine. Doing drill now is so much easier espcially double feeds and FTF. I reccomend it but it will take a while to get used to it if you have been used to slapping the paddle. But once your used to it, they work a treat.
Use your left hand to rack the handle, trigger finger locks the bolt, weapon can stay in the shoulder the whole time.

Double feed is only time you need need to lock it back, and with a extended latch you can do it without locking back and then reracking when the mag is back in
Not that it makes much difference time wise as the Zombies that will come to my house dont have guns and I'll be using my AK anyway :D

They can cause the hold open to fail to engage. I actually like the idea, it makes sense, just hesitant to try it. I honestly have never had a problem with the battery of arms though.
got one. love it. use it extensivly. wouldnt take it off.
If you have learned how to do clearnece drills and shit it might be annoying but I only use my ar for hunting, not taking on the russians so I wouldnt know
I find people that havent used ar15s love them, and people that are army trained or have had 10 years with them think they are un nessary. IMO its resistance to change,
Fire control is maintained at all times, rather than swapping hands around to do things. which suits me.
mine has never caused a problem with hold open function on the last shot. a friends Nea dus that from new with out one as a side note.
very useful to me.
one thing I would like to add is that the ping pong paddle works the same reardless of the bad switch bieng there or not.
if you do buy one and dont like It let me know. a mate of mine would be happy to buy one for half the new price
Tried a mates BAD lever, yea not 2 bad, very quick and worth the $$ imo.
Call me old fashioned but I LOVE the standard bolt release!
The standard bolt release is in a shitty spot. If your rifle doesn't have cycling problems you'll probably never worry about it.

ahh well that would be why!I find if I'm in close where being quite is of critical importance i slowly cycle the action and the gently use the forward assist to chamber a round,basically letting the charging handle go forward whilst holding it so it does it slowly and quietly... works a treat!

walking round on an empty chamber is going to loose you deer.
just think the army boys and girls have their rifles loaded every day all day when they are deployed, they hardly ever shoot each other.
Very true, however they have bad habits such as finger inside the trigger guard beaten out of them. There will always be a few muppets in the civilian shooting community.Quote:
