Anything to say about Minox scopes?

As above. Looking to replace a shitbox scope on a bush/slip gun and seems to be a good option for what I am after (sub 300m, not likely to fog, durable etc).

Do not need to have a full bells and whistles scope at $1500+ just to bash around the bush gingerly. But also don't want to replace with an equally shite "stealth" or whatever it is.

Are the 3-9×40 Minox at the $500-$600 range worth a sniff? Seem to get pretty good reviews for the money but am more interested in the real world experience of them if anyone can pipe up.

Please keep in mind I am not a rich man and am somewhat hard on bush gear. Budget be $8-900 tops for what I need. However if anyone has experienced anything cheaper that is still decent for task I am all ears.

    Cheers.

Before everyone pipes up about Leupold, have had some dogs from them in past (not holding zero, issues with fogging being the stand outs) so am a bit lairy about trying again. But convince me if you can.

What do the Tekoa run at @2post?

Also I should add Leupold have always been good to deal with regards to issues but I honestly can't be bothered with the warranty process anymore. Just want a functional bush scope without spending a lot of $.

So far as I can tell Minox has scopes from real cheapies up to some nice glass - and like some other optics companies, they are a bit shy about telling you what the cheapies lack.

For all that I've got the cheapest Minox, a ZV3-9x40, its mounted on a son's rifle, and despite being very battle scared (rough little bugger he is), its held zero and hasn't fogged. The optics are nice for what it cost - $180 if I recall correctly.

Yeah I guess almost all companies have the basic cheap jobs up to the Colombian drug money levels now. Just looked at the Toric stuff and seems pretty decent for the money.
@Tentman can I ask what calibre it is mounted on? Have had a look through the cheaper Minox stuff and found it was acceptable for me in the bush. Would certainly not be my choice for longer ranges but that is not what I really require in this instance. Durable and consistent are far more important

Its on a Savage 223. Besides an occasional visit to the range to check zero it really only gets one outing a year with my lad, so thats about 3 trips in total! To be fair, all manufacturers scopes will follow a bell curve of quality/reliability, most will be OK, a few excellent and a few horrible.

@Russian 22. I have one with the standard "duplex" reticule. Great scope. You won't be disappointed.

All scope manufacturers produce the odd dud. For a bush scope at that budget it's pretty hard to go past the 2.5-8 vx3. Light and capable.

I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the minox scopes, will take a hit on resale though as they aren't that well known
