It's a m and p 15 lower , smith and Wesson upper.

I've got one, picked it up from GunsNZ, S&W M&P15.
Cheap, pretty accurate. The buffer spring makes a bit of noise, it might be one of the 1st things you'd want to tweak. The lack of dust cover and forward assist isn't an issue for me, some folks don't like having the bolt area exposed. Trigger isn't too bad, and pretty cost effective all round I reckon.

Sounds like lots of fancy stuff tarting up a pretty basic lower end AR.
Most important parts on an AR are a good barrel, bolt carrier group and trigger.
I struggle to see how anyone could only shoot 150 rounds through an AR though. Maybe add another zero to the number?
PS, first thing I do with the buffer spring on any AR, whether its a $3300 off the shelf rifle or a custom build is cover the spring in lithium grease, removes/reduces the 'twang'.
The twang of freedom.
You won't hear it over the concussion from my non suppressed 11.5" carbine. :D
Here is 300calman shooting it a few weeks ago at NZDA. Unfortunately, the light doesn't show the true muzzle flash.

I always have a chuckle when I read of guns being sold 'hardly used'.
S&W M&P15 SPORT 5.56 NATO A or E Cat
$1795 new
With all the toys added and it's 2nd hand, dunno maybe $1500 ? There's a balance between what something is worth to the seller, and what the buyer is prepared to pay.
It's not a bad package. Comes with a suppressor and a decent handguard. Between 1500 and 1700 would be fair.
People get real hung up on this but it's no different to a shotgun with the recoil spring in the but. My Beretta 3901 used to go "twang-kerclunk" every time I fired it.
Having said that an adjustable gas block seemed to tame the noise in my rifle and it's not noticable now.
Commenting on the twang is the first thing people do after shooting a real AR. They didn't add the twang into counterstrike so people don't expect it,.
It's just an annoying sound when it's right inside your ear every time you squeeze the trigger. More distracting for me personally.
Bit of grease though and then it's an non issue.
As far as that AR goes, with scope suppressor etc 1500-1700 is probably a pretty fair price. Wouldn't get too hung up on rounds down the tube as even if it was 10x what he stated 1500 is SFA through an AR.
1500-1700 sounds right.
If the twang bothers people then the JP silent capture Spring is ideal-I bought one for the ability to tune the spring but the lack of twang is a nice bonus
@Cartman do you know what barrel is on it?
Thought these things were standard 16 inch?
its a straight swap for my 300 win mag
Never shot an ace stock derivative AR that didn't twang.
Yes lithium grease makes a noticeable difference, but so does a different butt stock. The foam tube that covers the buffer tube almost seems to amplify the noise, rather than muffle it.
Colt or armalite is the only way to go. They are the origional and in my view still the best manufacturers of the Ar15. If you buy one it will last you a lifetime and you won't get wear and tear like you do with some of the alternatives now being imported. You get what you pay for
Meh, they're just big Kids toys

@Cartman it's really just a question of if you have finished having fun with the 300 then swap and have some fun with the ar. Good luck breaking it or shooting the barrel out.
You need to add H&K, Schmeisser, Daniel Defence, JP and a large number of mill spec+ rifles. While colt and armalite are milspec and well made, metallurgy has come a long way since the spec was written in the 1960s. The NZDF have just chosen Lewis Machine & Tool Co who make the current 7.62 rifle. I am sure they are lasting the Grunt test ok Probably worse than any other firearm test in the world! Otherwise they would not have chosen their 5.56 version as the Steyer replacement
Never noticed the TWANG in my WW until I suppressed it.
Now it annoys me.
Lithium grease you say?
I like my Twang...
Nah I like my 300 and I've got a brand new blr stainless on the way. This toy can wait. Only reason I considered as I just got a pest control contract and thought it would be a good fit. I think a 10/22 and eventually an ar 10 will work well.

Ranger any good?

It is the Chinese shit referred to at the start of this thread. Although I have heard some people have nothing but good things to say about them. Probably people that payed thousands for them years ago when Gun Shitty was the only outfit bringing in ARs
The finish on the BCG is like it was carved out of wood with a blunt screwdriver and they are only worth half what GC charge.
you could build a cmmg for around $1500 I would imagine? Maybe even throw in a few aero pieces. Without optics of course
I was looking after a part of our local range one day, watching a chinese guy repeatedly loading one in the mag, putting the mag in, chambering the round, pulling the trigger, *click*, eject, drop mag, load, repeat. Wandered over and had a look thinking it was boogie ammo, but it wasn't the ammo - although this piece of shit was brand new, the finish was so bad it wouldn't even fire! Pulled the bolt apart, cleaned some of the rougher bits up with 600 paper, oiled it (bone dry too of course), and it went after that. He'd paid over $2k for this thing, including some nasty optic. Yuk.
AR's are like lego for big boys!
Ken at NZAR15 is a good dude and helped me out with my first AR.
