    AR15 Alternatives?

I don't like AR15's. Nothing in particular, they just don't do anything for me!

I'd like a lightweight semi auto in .223 with the emphasis on "light".

Not looking for a sh*tfight but all helpful posts welcome.
Range 40-130m, 1.0 to 1.5 moa will be fine.

    Thanks.

Define light? Because the mini-14 isn't lighter then a lightweight AR. Are you wanting a semi with more of a "traditional" stock and pistol grip as opposed to something more modern looking @NZ_noddy?

Most AR's that I've owned/handled, and AK's, once you add optics, are heavier than many bolt actions.

What do you define as "lightweight" AR? 2.5kg, 3.5kg? Can be A or E, I'm not fussy :-)

I have a Mini-30 stainless with wood stock in E-Cat as well if wanted. Any could be de-registered to A-Cat.

    What about an H&K SL6? [EDIT] or H&K 630

I can appreciate that and 8-10 years ago would agree with you, however with the way things are headed more and more people are wanting their rifles to be lightweight. If you have the dough, carbon fiber could be an option?

what game u targeting? savage 17hmr semi is one option if not larger game. main points to consider with semi is ease of stripping to clean barrel. Thats where the AR15 excells, so easy to take down to clean...not a 5 min job with a lot of hunting style semis.

GC has em for $2.5k but they're probably not as light as an AR
Mini 14 is a good rifle, 1.5 moa should be achievable with ammo it likes
Kel Tec would be the lighter option if you like the style, but don't expect 1 moa.
