Cool AR15 THE DIRTER THE BETTER

I have a AR15 seems to be more accurate the dirtier it gets, as soon as I pull it apart and clean it, it shoots all over the show. Pulled it apart to put a wedge in it, didn't clean it and was really accurate, gave it a clean and turned to shit. Any ideas on why it would be doing this and any suggestions to keep it accurate please.

    Thanks

Do you clean the barrel? If so, to what degree?

How many rounds does it take to shoot straight again?

The last time it took around 40 -50 before it came right, this time have only put around 30 through and still not shooting straight

That nearly eliminates the barrel needing to be fouled to shoot.

Can you take a few pics of your bolt head from the rear and front.
Or better yet you could just try another bolt head and carrier if you can borrow one somehow.

Define 'accurate' and 'turned to shit', just to put a scale on the problem

Ok when its shooting accurate its grouping within the size of a golf ball, when its turned to shit it groups in the size of a basket ball

I've heard stories about how teflon can cause accuracy to go to shit if it gets in your barrel, but I have no scientific evidence to support it, and most people seem to think it's bull shit. Teflon is present in some CLP concoctions. Pretty hard thing to diagnose on the net.

Maybe try something different and shoot some groups. Sounds weird.

No problems for me using M Pro 7 in my AR. Works like a charm and groups nice and small. (Golf ball size to me).

Are you removing your optic to clean the upper?

If I had a rifle like that I would give it to my wife so she could learn from its example.

Just for fun, can I ask what rifle, barrel length it is, and what ammo you use...
