I was told that they are made with a Norinco lower, and an American (Bushmaster/DPMS) upper? But who cares as long as it shoots well and is Milspec so you can interchange parts.
kj
The finish on the uppers I've seen is way way worse than any US made upper I've seen
China Jin'g An (CJA) is an supplier/exporter of (typically) agricultural equipment and have also facilitated the export of firearms to the US, Canada and NZ including SKS, Type 56, M305 and now knock-off AR15's. The arms themselves are made by Norinco.
Google is still my friend.
Ray.
They are Norinco's. They sell in Canada for around $CAD600 and are good guns for the money. Definitely not worth $2k.
are the 1k cad nea's worth 2nzd?
the wyndham arms for 2300 will put a fair boot up the cja and the nea.
the real question is, who will be the first to hit 1500 retail?
greg
Yea they are expensive. Typical gun city tho Give it a couple of years and they will be 1000 bucks. Finish is definitly crap but i still love it. Thanks for the answers guys! Much appreciated
The NEA aren't to bad overall but there triggers are awful!
Who is selling Windham?
I'd rather see more higher end offerings than another bottom tier bargain brand
aparently H&F are going to do the wyndam
Yip, I know the cost price for them and Digit isn't making all that much off them. They are $1K in CAD sure, but it costs money to send stuff, then there is gst, customs fees, brokerage fees etc they are priced honestly. Is a bottom of the barrel rifle in the USA worth $2.5-$3K? I don't know. But with US export regulations the way they are we will not see many "high speed"brands here anytime soon on A cat (Colt, BCM, LMT, Spikes, etc unless they make export compliant models. LMT does.) Bushmaster isn't exactly a yard stick of quality, but inital reports suggest the Whindham guns are better. Would be cool if H&K made an A cat MR223 and 762. Would probably be $rape though. Kiwi's don't exactly buy AR's for "serious social purposes", for what we generally use them for, what is available is sufficent. My non-milspec RRA has never skipped a beat the whole time I've had it. Never been cleaned, had it filthy as hell with foreign debris, including inside the reciever and never had an issue. Very happy with it. Honestly haven't shot my NEA all that much. Hammils is meant to be carrying the Whindham guns gimp.
Someone ought to get A-Cat Sig 556s in or something.
FWIW the NEA's are NZ 3k in South Africa where they use a wholesale/retail system. The latest generation NEA's are a step above the bushmasters Ive looked at. Our wholesale margin as Beavis has said is a lot less than most would think.
Never laid eyes on a Wyndham so cant comment I imagine they will be a nice gun for the price - Good on Hamills. Gun City are still raping NZers for the Norincos. In Canada they wholesale for $CAD450. Theres a lot room for them to move yet and I expect they will once forced ;)
Regardless the more AR's in NZ the better. I dont care who brings them in - we need to flood the market to ensure the survival as a sporting platform. Price is key for this to happen. The market for 3K+ AR's is incredibly small. The market for sub 2K AR's is huge - we cant get enough to satisfy demand.
If you want Sig's we can bring them in no problem - on E-Cat. We've tried on A but no luck. We have some Sig 522's lined up on E - just waiting to hear back on the whole hand in side of things as its gone pear shaped with the recent legal cases against NZ police at the moment.
Did you ever investigate getting CZ58's Ken? Don't know what the market would be like but I want one lol
Would be epic if you could get in some reasonably nice PE90's
*Reasonably priced
There are a lot of A-Cat semi's out there that Kiwis would love - its actually surprising what you can find that could be exported here. For example I believe there is a 5 round A-Cat version of the PTR91 available in the USA.
She's lyibg
What about the Sig 556's Digit (on E)? Ball park $
PM if you prefer.
Cheers
My sources tell me that a certain outfit here in NZ has approval (from our end anyway) to bring in some of the Christensen Arms range of AR15s and some of there 308 variants and there is also talk of some of them having the carbon wrapped barrels. But i best leave it at that.
shit how many tactical rifles does the kiwi man need....... although i would love a galil:D
If its the same person that was doing
Christenson before, then I suggest everyone stay waaaaaaay away
I did , in fact paid 700US + export fees just for a cool looking barrel:) (Rock Creek barrel Carbon Wrapped by Advanced barrel systems)
See Here/
Although ABS has now sold out to Proof research
price dependant Id be keen,
How much for the cz 58?
Hey Beavis, I'll get a price for you on the VZ58. I'll have to figure out if I can get one in on A cat or were you interested (price dependent) on an E cat one? I'll quote a price for the AR 10 under premier scopes in the commercial advertisers section.
quite a mark up in there for that price - I looked just a while ago; but not normally what I do (import wise) - now there is a group buy
I can't say I would be able to buy the VZ (I gotta eat ya know) but if given an indication it might be something I could work towards. I know at least one other person who may be keen. A cat.
I've only recently started looking at getting an AR, so in the process of doing homework on the available options here in NZ.
How does the Stag Arms available from Reloaders compare to the NEA offering?
Is it $500 better?
Stag Arms AR15 A Category 16" Barrel Right Handed
There will be Double Stars avail in a couple of weeks - different league to Stag
Same company does the machine work for:
LAR
Bushmaster
Ameetec
DPMS
CMMG
Fulton Armory
Spike's Tactical
Colt
do tell
The best I have seen are the Windham Weaponary , made AR-15s , they are as good or better than the pre-2005 Bushmasters , ie when Bushmasters where one of the best made ARs in the USA , Hunting & Fishing have them for 2.5k , very nice , best you will get for 2.5k
