They're heavy but sound reduction is excellent

Was running an SL5 on my AR's till I got an ODL. Same noise reduction for more than half the weight. Keep it in the draw to loan out now.

wow, thats a significant weight difference. How do the AR's react to being suppressed - do they still cycle fine?

They are overgassed to begin with, and more so when suppressed. An adjustable gas block will tame the amount of gas coming back.

Here's a good explanation of the different variables and components of the DI gas system: http://www.reddit.com/r/ar15/comment...stem_overview/

Can confirm the ODL cans are the duck's nuts. Ridiculously lightweight and way better sound reduction than any comparable size can I've seen

ASE, Heavey but effective, take a thrashing.

Not sure they're worth the extra over a Waitaki Can.

Bang for buck waitaki are good but Iv popped two in certain applications while Iv used several ASE cans and not blown one yet...

In saying that Waitaki were happy to replace them and I think in most cases they would be fine.

I like people who stand behind their products.

Have an ASE on my. 284 and very happy with it, most people that serenity laugh until they hear it. Sure they are heavy but compared to others (hardy, sorts etc) they are gd to go. Really like mine

I have one on my 243 - tends to be used on mobs of goats - quite a few rounds in just a few minutes
The sound reduction is good, same with withstanding the heat - prefer it to a overbarrel, allows the barrel to cool evenly as well
