Thinking about buying one of the $80.00 bipod clones. I read on an aussie forum post (scroll down) about a mod that can be done by adding star washers and a stronger spring to make the adjustments more stable has anyone messed with one? how flimsy are they compared to the real thing?
Also what is the cheapest, easiest option to add a short length of lightweight picatinny rail under the forend of a standard stock and still be able to run a sling?
Go to deal extreme, and buy a couple of dollar pic mount, and screw it on. As for the bipod, I have a rip off of a Harris and it is very useable, I run it on a rem mag and seems to take the punishment

I got a rail set from Aliexpress as well and inlet a short length into the fore end of the stock.
Bipod fits nicely and I have been able to put a sling adapter on the rail as well.
