lucky i didn't buy an atlas as i don't like the sloppiness of the atlas i'll say with me harris swivle notch leg it's a lot quicker to deploy
and not as sloppy as an old tart :pacman:
the play in the Atlas is one of the reasons I prefer it, it's better to load for recoil control.
How is play better to load for recoil control please?
The rigid harris legs simply slide on most surfaces when you lean into them, and hop backwards under recoil, the atlas with the different feet and a bit of play allows you to actually load it and has some capacity for rearward movement under recoil without the feet having to move
skip to about 4:30

also this is a dreadful video but shows what I mean somewhat at about 2:50

Interesting,I don't load mine hard enough to slide the feet( which I have only kept as it occasionally used off a bonnet or roof) and most harris users seem to have spikes.
The spring and hinge allow them to move under recoil if they have to.
I have tried loading hard but found I couldn't keep a consistent poi on different surfaces so now load just enough to "take up the slack"
the spikes are shit because they dig in and cause lateral tension if you make any adjustment without lifting the whole rifle, can't track a moving target etc, and they allow you to load TOO much. You do only want to take up the slack - but I find that I can't even do that half the time with a harris because there is no slack.
i only use up to a 7mm rem mag so no real recoil to speak of so it not a problem , on a 338 and over well maybe
but still preloading a harris is still not a problem if you do it right.
Now being sold under a different listing...

My Atlas is fucked. Can't turn the knob and tilting either way is too stiff. Was like this when I bought it about 2 years ago. I should find some time to send it back....
This link seems to have expired also has anyone else found a new link, because I can't. Cheers
Yeh quite strange. Couldn't find any on Aliexpress. When I got mine there was at least 3 different listings for them. Cannot even find the spike feet that I got either...and they were an airsoft product not even listed as Atlas.
I very much doubt that Atlas could have driven the knock offs off the market because of patent infringement.
Just to annoy, I am quite happy with mine - obviously not as good as the genuine item but value wise and quality wise well worth the money.
I cant even find any bipods on ali express now,
.
Yeah I have been looking as well, failed to find it.
it seems all references to Bi-pod a have been removed?! Not Aliexpress but could be worth the risk Wholesale Bipod - Buy Cheap Bipod from Chinese Wholesalers | DHgate.com
That looks like the one... DHgate.com looks like the parts and accessories rip-off site.
Here's a review of various bipods on the market

@cambo Bipod still holding up? I'm considering purchasing one off DHGate.com - roughly $80nzd at the moment.
I saw some of the knockoffs and quality of construction and materials was poor compared to the real thing, buy the real thing and support the people making a good product and doing R&D on new ideas IMO
I did my first hunting trip with the knock off on Friday. My conclusion is not enough extension and too much weight for hunting with the .17hmr. I will go back to my b-square which is lighter and quicker to deploy. I like the leg extension mechanism but the range is limited. I will move it on to the AR for a range test.
Forgot to mention that I chucked a couple of rubber o-rings into the pan/slant mechanism to stop it slipping. worked well but I will be trying some other mods.
they need some sort of washer system to stop it tightening and loosening when you pan left or right
Yup still holding together. Given it a pretty good work out on the AR and the wmr and it works well.
Compared to a buddy's genuine Atlas, the build quality is very plain to see but the Chink copy seems to hold up OK for what I'm using it for anyway.
Don't know if I'd try it on a bigger cal but for the 223 and wmr it is fine.
If anyone is wondering how to attach the bipod to a standard swivel stud, you will need one of these....
Weaver - Tactical Scope Mounts - Picatinny System
Sportways have them normally. They don't sell to public so you will need to go into your local hunting store and ask them to get you one in.
Does anyone know where I can get one of these SRS Rail, HS Precision 2.0" Hole Spacing ?
They don't export so if anyone knows of a NZ distributor?
We have a heap of seekins product coming in the next few weeks. We dont have those though.
